Off-Grid Adventure Camps offers fully inclusive 6-day (5-night) holiday camps for 9–14 year olds, set in the stunning surroundings of Ranui Farm Park in Central Hawke’s Bay. Our camps are designed to give young people an unforgettable off-grid experience filled with adventure, connection, and personal growth.
From the moment campers arrive and are welcomed by our friendly, experienced team, they become part of a supportive and fun camp community. Over the week, friendships form quickly - even for those who arrive not knowing anyone - and many campers leave with lifelong connections across the North Island (and often can’t wait to return!).
Each day is thoughtfully designed to balance exciting outdoor activities, physical challenges, teamwork, creativity, and confidence-building experiences. Our passionate instructors go above and beyond to ensure every child feels safe, supported, included, and inspired. And yes - the food is something both kids and parents rave about!
Backed by the trusted Ennor Family of Scallywaggs Early Childhood Education Centres, with over 36 years of experience on their 4th-generation farm, Off-Grid Adventure Camps delivers a holistic, enriching camp experience where young people unplug, grow in confidence, and create lasting memories in the great outdoors.

Going off-grid doesn’t mean roughing it. With nutritious and tasty meals prepared by a chef, hundreds of exciting activities to experience and expert instructors coming in to teach specialty areas, this is more than just your average holiday camp. And you’ll be so busy having fun, that you won’t even miss your devices (we promise!).
This is a chance for young people to step away from screens and step into real-life adventure — building confidence, resilience, friendships, and independence along the way. From action-packed days outdoors to laughter-filled evenings under the stars, every moment is designed to create lasting memories.

Awesome activities
There’s always plenty of fun, stimulating and challenging activities to do at our camps, and the variety will keep you interested and engaged!
Hang out with your new mates and have loads of fun, as you battle it out playing Gaga Ball - a group favourite!
Explore the farm and forest in teams while learning to navigate and follow maps and clues, in our fun orienteering challenges and treasure hunts. On sunny days, enjoy our water-based activities, such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and our 70m long water slide.
With loads of mountain bike trails, a BMX pump track and a jumps park, there’s something for everyone. From beginner to experienced rider, our bike park is designed to cater to all abilities and you’ll come away from our bike sessions feeling like you’ve been challenged and have improved.
Enjoy hands-on farm experiences as you learn what life is really like on a working farm - watch our Farm Manager shear a sheep up close and even take a ride in our Can-Am off-road buggy for an unforgettable adventure!
Hone your technique and aim for the target with our archery, slingshot and paintball target shooting challenges. Give Axe-throwing a go (in a safe environment) and take a swing at our Golf Challenge.
Come up with a strategy and work together as a team, as you design and build a raft that has to get your whole team around the dam and back without anyone getting wet!
Experience the stars under the vast night-sky and in the beautiful natural surroundings, as you learn to set up camp and toast marshmallows over a campfire. Enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides, with amazing scenery and even a secret waterfall!
There will be team building activities, fun group games and creative workshops as well as time to relax and enjoy the fantastic facilities and surroundings with your new-found friends. This will be the experience of a life-time!

The Venue
Off-Grid Adventure Camps are held at Ranui Farm Park, a stunning adventure and mountain bike park set on a working sheep and beef farm in Central Hawke’s Bay. With excellent facilities, exciting activities, and comfortable accommodation, it’s the perfect setting for our camps.
Campers stay in either large dormitories or spacious tents, with boys and girls in separate areas. Our Team Leaders and instructors are onsite overnight to ensure everyone is safe and feels supported. Facilities include separate toilets and hot showers for boys and girls.

We keep group sizes small to provide personalised support, strong supervision, and meaningful connections. This creates a close-knit, nurturing environment where kids feel a true sense of belonging.
Children enjoy six nutritious, delicious meals a day, prepared by experienced chefs who can cater for different dietary needs. Campers (and their parents) often rave about the food!
Each child receives a camp journal to record their experiences and reflections. We guide daily exercises in gratitude, intention, and reflection - valuable life skills that often continue long after camp ends.
As parents ourselves, we understand the nerves that can come with sending your child away on camp. That’s why we go the extra mile to keep you connected - with daily photos and regular updates - so you can feel confident knowing your child is safe, supported, and having the time of their life!

An Adventure Park, with a wide-range of activities on offer, including: archery, paint-ball target shooting, golf, waterslide, kayaking, paddleboarding, confidence course and more.
A Mountain bike park, a dirt bike park, and jumps park.
A working farm where kids can interact with animals and learn about farm life.
Scenic Natural Setting: A mix of open farmland, native forest, and regenerating bush, with plenty of walking and biking trails to explore.
Excellent Facilities: A variety of accommodation options, hot showers, and all-weather spaces including a large hall and covered outdoor areas.
